DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL

Date: 2021-Feb-28 (Lent 2) TOPIC: JUST ONE LOST SHEEP! TEXT: Luke 15:1-10(NKJV) 1. Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, "This Man receives sinners and eats with them." 3. So He spoke this parable to them, saying: 4. "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5.  "And when he has found [it,] he lays [it] on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6.  "And when he comes home, he calls together [his] friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' 7.  "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. 8.  " Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep th...

OUR DAILY BREAD

February 28 | Bible in a Year: Numbers 20-22; Mark 7:1-13 *NEW EVERY MORNING* [God’s] compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 *READ LAMENTATIONS 3:19–26* My brother Paul grew up battling severe epilepsy, and when he entered his teenage years it became even worse. Nighttime was excruciating for him and my parents, as he’d experience continuous seizures for often more than six hours at a time. Doctors couldn’t find a treatment that would alleviate the symptoms while also keeping him conscious for at least part of the day. My parents cried out in prayer: “God, oh God, help us!” Although their emotions were battered and their bodies exhausted, Paul and my parents received enough strength from God for each new day. In addition, my parents found comfort in the words of the Bible, including the book of Lamentations. Here Jeremiah voiced his grief over the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians, remembering “the bitterness and the gall” (3:19). Yet Jeremia...

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

CHRIST IN YOU  Sunday, February 28th . Pastor Chris  _*But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me… (Galatians 1:15-16).*_   The Apostle Paul, in our opening text, testified that God was pleased to reveal His Son, Jesus Christ in him. This isn’t just for the Apostle Paul; it’s the calling of every Christian. Christ revealed or expressed in your daily walk is the essence of Christianity. The Bible says, _*“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”*_ (Colossians 1:27).  Can you see Christ in you? Can you see His life manifested in and through you? If Christ is revealed in you, there’ll be no place for defeat or weakness. There’ll be no room for sickness in your body. The hope that you’ll forever be victorious, is Christ in you. You may have been diagnosed with a terminal disease; if you can conte...

DAILY TONIC

Psalm 119:90 "Thy faithfulness [is] unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth." Halleluya. This morning, the Psalmist is reminding you of the reason why you must worship God: HE IS A FAITHFUL FATHER AND HIS FAITHFULNESS IS UNTO ALL GENERATIONS including ours. He is a GOOD FATHER. Beloved, it is A PRIVILEGE FOR YOU TO BE ONE OF THE PEOPLE THAT WILL WORSHIP GOD THIS DAY. I say CONGRATULATIONS to you. As you WORSHIP God this day, He shall SHINE HIS FACE ON YOU. HE SHALL MEET YOU AT THE POINTS OF YOUR NEED AND TAKE YOU TO YOUR EXPECTED END IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.  Remember to stay safe and REMAIN FAITHFUL TO GOD.  Good morning and blessed service ahead.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: SUNDAY 28TH FEBRUARY 2021. THEME: NOT FOR DOGS.

MEMORISE: But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. Matthew 15:26 READ:  Isaiah 59:1-2  1. Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:  2. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. MESSAGE: Many people see God as a magician. They come to Him only when they need to see a 'magic trick'; though they say what they want is a miracle. Such people want to live anyhow they like, yet have God perform miracles for them whenever they need it. I laugh when I encounter such people. Jesus said that God is our Father and I know He prefers to be addressed as such. If you don't believe me, read Matthew 6:9. He taught His disciples to pray saying "Our Father". God wants man to fellowship with Him for who He is and not just for the miracles they can get from Him. Think about it,...

ALONE: FEELING OR FACT?

It was almost like a scene from the 2000 movie starring Tom Hanks,   Cast Away . A giant container ship is plowing through the open sea when its crew spots a bearded man adrift in the water, perched on some kind of vessel. The ship’s captain radios authorities, and within a few hours, the man is rescued from a likely watery grave. Only this time it wasn’t a movie. Louis Jordan, age 37, had lost his job and moved onto his 35–foot sailboat at a small marina on the coast of South Carolina. He spent months rehabbing the 50–year–old vessel, making it seaworthy, foraging wild foods, and living off fish he netted in the Intracoastal Waterway. On January 23, 2015, Jordan sailed his boat,  Angel , into the open ocean where he spent the next 66 days alone—but not by choice. Six days passed without Jordan’s parents hearing anything from their son, so they contacted the Coast Guard. Despite nearly two weeks of searching and spreading alert bulletins among maritime commercial companies, no...

TODAY'S WORD WITH JOEL & VICTORIA OSTEEN

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE "So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. (Luke 12:32, NLT) *YOUR FATHER'S WORLD* We knew a very successful widowed man who remarried, and at the age of sixty-five found out they were going to have his first child. When his wife gave birth and he held his baby boy, he was overwhelmed and began to weep for joy. He looked his son in the eyes and said, I can't wait to give you my world. That's the way our heavenly Father feels about you. He's been thinking about you a long time. He didn't create you to be ordinary, to just make it through life. He's lined up amazing opportunities, good breaks, and the right people. He's saying to you, I can't wait to give you My world. His world is big, filled with joy, filled with favor, filled with blessings, and filled with love. In His world, you are His prized possession. What He has in store for you is going to boggle your mind. ...

February 27 | Bible in a Year: Numbers 17-19; Mark 6:30-56 *NO LONGER YOURSELF* I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 *READ GALATIANS 2:14–21* In the summer of 1859, Monsieur Charles Blondin became the first person to cross Niagara Falls on a tightrope—something he would go on to do hundreds of times. Once he did it with his manager Harry Colcord on his back. Blondin gave Colcord these instructions: “Look up, Harry . . . you are no longer Colcord, you are Blondin. . . . If I sway, sway with me. Do not attempt to do any balancing yourself. If you do, we will both go to our death.” Paul, in essence, said to the Galatian believers: You can’t walk the line of living a life that is pleasing to God apart from faith in Christ. But here’s the good news—you don’t have to! No amount of attempting to earn our way to God will ever cut it...

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL

Date: 2021-Feb-27 TOPIC: HEARING AND DOING THE WORD TEXT: Matthew 7:21 -29(NKJV) 21.  " Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22.  "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23.  "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' 24.  " Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25.  "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26.  "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27.  "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the ...

THE HONOUR OF PREACHING THE GOSPEL  Saturday, February 27th . Pastor Chris  _*This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare (1 Timothy 1:18).*_   God has never used the angels to minister or preach the Gospel for the salvation of men. Even if He gets the attention of a sinner through an angel, He’ll get a Christian who has received that salvation to preach the Gospel to that sinner, because He gave the Church the honour of preaching the Gospel (Acts 10:1-6).  He also gave us, His saints, the honour of executing judgment in this earth over the forces of darkness (Psalm 149:5-9). This is so that we’ll have no excuse in preaching the Gospel and covering the earth with His righteousness. He gave us the power to use His Name against satanic forces. He said, _*“...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature…And these signs shall follow them that be...

Psalm 18:2 "The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower." Glory. The Word is simply reassuring you this morning that GOD IS YOUR ALL-IN-ALL. When you need healing, He will show up for you. When you need a friend,  He will always be there. When you need a helper, He will be there by your side, never leaving nor forsaking you.  As you launch out today,  remember you have God, your ALL-IN-ALL, with you always. You are a CHAMPION and you will reign forever in Jesus name.  Please do remember to stay safe as YOU STAY WITH GOD. Good morning and blessed weekend ahead.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: SATURDAY 27TH FEBRUARY 2021. THEME: DANGERS OF ALCOHOL III

MEMORISE: Woe unto him that giveth his neighbor drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!                Habakkuk 2:15 READ:  Genesis 19:31-38 31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. 33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. 34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. 35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger a...

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVOURED  Friday, February 26th . Pastor Chris  _*To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6).*_   The word “accepted” in the scripture above is “charitoō” (Greek), and it means to grace; that is, to be imbued with special honour; make accepted or be highly favoured. So, the scripture should actually read, “…He has made us highly favoured in the beloved.” Hallelujah!  Someone in Scripture who got such a description was Mary. Luke 1:28 says, _*“And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured….”*_ And that’s exactly what God is telling you; you’re blessed and highly favoured.  Mary was blessed and highly favoured because she was to carry Jesus in her womb through the Word. Today, you’re carrying Jesus in your spirit through the Word. Glory to God! His Word isn’t just in you, His Word is your life, for you’re born of the Word. What a life He’s given us...

THE WORD FOR TODAY WRITTEN BY BOB&DEBBY GASS

BE FLEXIBLE Philippians 2:4 NKJV When it comes to the truth, you should be unbending. But when it comes to relationships, you must learn to be flexible. If you always need to be "right" and make the other person "wrong," you'll never enjoy stable, long-lasting relationships. One author writes: "We will not last together because we were never wrong. We will last because when we were wrong, we found the invincible will to correct the wrong and the grace to endure whatever it took to survive it together. Our families are never perfect, but that doesn't mean we cannot find a way to make it across the tumultuous seas onto the shores of love and life. Coming from backgrounds with different traditions and conflicting ideas, we bring baggage and unrealistic expectations to our relationships whether we are conscious of it or not." So what should you do? He continues: "Create in yourself an openness to change and an understanding that much correction wi...

2Co 3:3 "[Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart." Glory. The Word is declaring this morning that YOU ARE THE EPISTLE OF CHRIST WRITTEN BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD IN THE HEART. This means you are THE LETTER AND TESTIMONY OF GOD TO THE PEOPLE. It means you are A SPECIAL BREED. You are NOT COMMON. You are created for SIGNS AND WONDERS. Beloved as you launch out this day, you shall MANIFEST THE GLORY OF GOD, WITH SIGNS AND WONDERS FOLLOWING. YOU SHALL DELIVER GOD'S MESSAGE TO YOUR GENERATION IN JESUS NAME, AMEN. Always do remember to stay safe as you GENUINELY ABIDE IN CHRIST AND CHRIST ABIDES IN YOU.  Good morning and blessed weekend ahead.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: FRIDAY 26TH FEBRUARY 2021. THEME: DANGERS OF ALCOHOL II

MEMORISE: Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Proverbs 31:6 READ:  Proverbs 31:4-6 4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: 5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. 6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. MESSAGE: Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.        Proverbs 20:1 The Bible says it is only fools who take alcohol. Alcohol makes a fool of anyone who consumes it, so much that, the drunkard standing on solid ground can begin to think he is sleeping  in  the middle of the sea. He would think he is lying on a bed. Imagine such mockery. " Oh, I just want to take a little; I can't get drunk. I know how to control myself." No one starts drinking with the intention of misbehaving and...

THE EFFICACY OF COUPLE'S' PRAYER

1. It is always difficult to hold the hands of someone you are not happy with in prayers. 2. The power of praying together is hidden from many couples. 3. Prayers can solve any problem, it can bring down any mountain in  marriage. 4. The couples that stay connected in prayers live happier and healthier. 5. Never joke with prayers in your marriage! 6. There are types of prayer: a. Personal prayer b. Congregational prayer. c. Family prayer  d. couples' prayer etc. 7. Family prayer is different from couples' prayer. So many marriages observe family prayer but neglect couples' prayer. 8. Couples' prayer involve only the husband and the wife. Don't assume family prayer for this please. 9. You need to be alone with your spouse in the place of prayer, don't be too busy for this. 10. You have not won the battle of quarrelling, nagging, unloving, lack of respect etc because you have not been holding hands together in prayers and meet God. Meeting God show to you where yo...

OUR DAILY BREAD

February 25 | Bible in a Year: Numbers 12-14; Mark 5:21-43 *TO BE HUMAN* Jerusalem, Jerusalem . . . how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. Matthew 23:37 *READ MATTHEW 23:37–24:2* “Mr. Singerman, why are you crying?” asked twelve-year-old Albert as he watched the master craftsman construct a wooden box. “I cry,” he said, “because my father cried, and because my grandfather cried.” The woodworker’s answer to his young apprentice provides a tender moment in an episode of Little House on the Prairie. “Tears,” explained Mr. Singerman, “come with the making of a coffin.” “Some men don’t cry because they fear it is a sign of weakness,” he said. “I was taught that a man is a man because he can cry.” Emotion must have welled up in the eyes of Jesus as He compared His concern for Jerusalem to the care of a mother hen for her chicks (Matthew 23:37). His disciples were often confused by what they saw in His eyes or heard in His storie...

THE SPIRIT HAS BEEN POURED OUT  Thursday, February 25th . Pastor Chris  _*And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions (Joel 2:28).*_   The Bible says _*“...no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost”*_ (1 Corinthians 12:3). No one can confess the Lordship of Jesus or decide to serve God, except drawn by the Holy Spirit. When the Bible says the word of salvation is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart (Romans 10:8), it’s the Holy Spirit that puts that word in your heart. Right from when someone professes the Lordship of Jesus for salvation, it’s the Holy Spirit already working in his or her life.  God, knowing that everyone needs the Holy Spirit to believe the Gospel, said in our theme verse, _*“…I will pour out my spirit upon ALL FLESH; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy...

TODAY'S WORD WITH JOEL & VICTORIA OSTEEN

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE "So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound think of it for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?" (Luke 13:16, NKJV) *FREEDOM* This lady who came into the synagogue where Jesus was had been bent over for eighteen years. She had been bound by the enemy for so long that I'm sure she thought it was permanent. When Jesus called her a daughter of Abraham, it meant she was a part of the covenant that God made with Abraham. She wasn't just any woman. She had rights and privileges because she was in the family line of Abraham. As with her, you're not just anyone. You're a child of the Most High God. You have rights because of who you belong to. You weren't created to be bound by sickness, an addiction, or any limitation. Get ready because the chain breaker is about to step in. If Jesus were here today, He would look at you and say, You are loosed from what's holding you back. Your day of...

Date: 2021-Feb-25 TOPIC: THE NARROW GATE TEXT: Matthew 7:12-14(NKJV) 12.  "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. 13.  " Enter by the narrow gate; for wide [is] the gate and broad [is] the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14.  "Because narrow [is] the gate and difficult [is] the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. STUDY: In life, good things are often difficult to get. Gold, silver, and other precious metals are mined deep down from the earth and must pass through fire to be refined for use. Jesus encouraged us to "enter by the narrow gate, … because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way, which leads unto life, and there are few which find it." A narrow gate is harder to pass through than one that is wide; only few people can go through it at once. Why did Jesus say the gate to life is narrow?' The decision to follow Christ has already ...

MEMORISE: Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Proverbs 23:29 -30 READ:  Proverbs 23:29-35 29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. 32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. 33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. 34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. 35 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? February 24 | Bible in a Year: Numbers 9-11; Mark 5:1-20 *NEVER ALONE* Two are better than one . . . If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 *READ ECCLESIASTES 4:8–12* “It can be an affliction more harrowing than homelessness, hunger or disease,” wrote Maggie Fergusson in The Economist’s 1843 magazine. Her subject? Loneliness. Fergusson chronicled the increasing rates of loneliness, irrespective of one’s social or economic status, using heart-wrenching examples of what it feels like to be lonely. The hurt of feeling alone isn’t new to our day. Indeed, the pain of isolation echoes off the pages of the ancient book of Ecclesiastes. Often attributed to King Solomon, the book captures the sorrow of those who seem to lack any meaningful relationships (4:7-8). The speaker lamented that it’s possible to acquire significant wealth and yet experience no value from it because there’s no one to share it with. But the speaker also recognized the beauty of compa...

TODAY'S WORD WITH JOEL&VICTORIA OSTEEN

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again. (Proverbs 24:16, NIV) *RISE AGAIN* Very few people can look in the mirror and say, I am good. We think, Not me. I fall short. I struggle in areas. But when you say, I am good, it's not because of who you are; it's because of whose you are. You are a child of the Most High God. He handpicked you, breathed life into you, and crowned you with favor. Don't go around intimidated, insecure, feeling as though you don t measure up. Your performance doesn't determine who you are; your heavenly Father determines who you are. When you fall down and make mistakes, thoughts will whisper, Look at you! You're a hypocrite. Don't live with that heaviness. Just answer back, I may have fallen, but I got back up again. Hold your head up and feel good about who you are. You may not be where you want to be, but you're growing, improving, and coming up higher. Celebrate where you are. Thank God for where...

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5.  "I am the vine, you [are] the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6.  "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned. 7.  "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8.  "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be...

SEE THE WORD IN PICTURES . Wednesday, February 24th . Pastor Chris  _*While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).*_   When you study the Scriptures, learn to do so with pictures; see with the eyes of your spirit; believe and act accordingly. It’s the blessings that your spirit takes a hold of that’ll manifest in your life. Therefore, as you listen to, or study the Word, visualize your victory, prosperity, health, peace, progress and success from within, and affirm accordingly.  Before the physical manifestation of the glory and victories that you desire in life, you must see them first within you. Once you can see it from within, then it’s yours. You can never have it on the outside if you didn’t first have it within. That’s where some have missed it. They want to see first with their physical eyes before calling it...

TODAY'S WORD WITH JOEL&VICTORIA OSTEEN

*TODAY'S SCRIPTURE* Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety? (Genesis 17:17, NIV) *DON'T GO BY YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES* Sarah was over ninety years old when she gave birth to Isaac. This is way too old in the natural, but we serve a supernatural God. He can make a way where you don't see a way. Don't talk yourself out of your dreams. Don't give up on what God promised you. You can still give birth. You can still meet the right person, still start your own business, still go to college, and still break the addiction. That seed is alive in you. Here's the key: You can't judge what's in you by what's around you. All of Sarah's circumstances said, You'll be barren your whole life. You're too old. No woman your age has babies. It's impossible. If she had believed that lie and let that seed take root, the miracle birth would never have ha...

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

*LIVING FOR HIS GLORY .*  Tuesday, February 23rd . Pastor Chris  _*And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 Corinthians 5:15).*_   In these last days, there’s only one thing that matters: living for the Lord; living for His glory; living a life of purpose. Jesus showed us the example to follow in this regard. In John 17:4, He said, _*“I have glorified thee on the earth: I HAVE FINISHED THE WORK WHICH THOU GAVEST ME TO DO.”*_  That ought to be your thinking as well; glorifying the Father should be your passion and purpose for living. How do you glorify the Father? It’s by doing His will; doing that which He commits to you and finishing the work. Have you discovered His purpose for your life? Are you about His work?  The purpose of the Father is the salvation of the whole world. That’s the reason He sent Jesus. And your purpose in life is connected to this. N...

*OUR DAILY BREAD*

February 23 | Bible in a Year: Numbers 7-8; Mark 4:21-41 *TURN ON THE LIGHT* Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 *READ MATTHEW 5:14–16 As my husband and I prepared for a cross-country move, I wanted to ensure that we kept in touch with our grown sons. I found a unique gift, friendship lamps connected by wireless internet, which can be turned on remotely. When I gave the lamps to my sons, I explained that their lamps will turn on when I touch my lamp—to provide a shining reminder of my love and ongoing prayers. No matter how great the distance between us, a tap on their lamps would trigger a light in our home too. Though we knew nothing could replace our more personal moments of connection, we could be encouraged by knowing we’re loved and prayed for every time we turned on those lights. All God’s children have the privilege of being light-sharers powered by the Holy Spirit. We’re designed to live as radia...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: TUESDAY 23RD FEBRUARY 2021. THEME: GUARD YOUR HEART.

MEMORISE: Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 READ:  Psalm 119:10-12 10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. 12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes. MESSAGE: It is shocking how believers engage in all manner of conversations and associations carelessly. If you know the value of your heart, you would guard it jealously. In 2 Samuel 13 we see a classic case of what happens when a person does not guard his or her heart. Amnon who was prince and could have married any lady in the land lusted after his half-sister who was a virgin. He then engaged in a seemingly harmless conversation with a friend who watered the seed of evil already planted in his unguarded heart. The evil desire then blossomed and led to his untimely death in verses 28 and 29 of the same chapter. The man who advised him to rape his sister ...
